as he stated, fugro (fugro.com) are the world leader in such work, but NMS were able to win the contract ahead of fugro, earn significant margins, and satisfy the client. from the little i do understand re:the japanese way to do things, NMS will have earned huge brownie points in completing that project to inpex satisfaction - and as i have highlighted many times, the ichthys project at browse is HUGE, and the timing of its development does fit in very very well with the growth of NMS and its multi-skilled operations.
i wouldnt like to declare they have the inside running, but you have to consider they are right up there, despite their relative size to the majors.
