I used to work for lawyers back in the last century, and have some good memories of Einfeld, not personally, but remember talk and newspaper stories of the things he did for others etc. He must have rubbed somebody up the wrong way for such a heavy sentence. Aren't our prisons overflowing?
Why not simply take his driver's licence away? If he is a car fan that would be punishment enough.

To be presented with such a web of useless lies by an intelligent and otherwise upstanding citizen, must surely give food for thought; i.e. is he still the full quid? People do get senile in incremental stages and do and say silly things long before it is obvious what's ailing them.

I am sad about this; it is a miscarriage of justice.
