I believe much blame is on the U.S. and our alliance, and much, much more.

Oodles more as to the reasons but we don't discuss that here do we.

Thankfully, my partner and I remind each other that in a social face-to-face setting and even on the pavement, an odd, smile or a wink may still be reciprocated and that the on-line tedious trolls are only attention-seeking.

we still say hello to each other here in our little part of Qld. We have a nice neighbourhood that hasn’t died yet.

Agree with your post in the main part. We have gone downhill and our alliances are worth talking about.

The UK went down years ago. In the cities nobody even looks at each other without snarling.

America? Just short of a civil war most days. And such a shite place to live.
