"FORTESCUE Metals boss Andrew Forrest went into a meeting with Kevin Rudd today disputing the Prime Ministers assertions that he was open to negotiating the Resources Super Profits Tax with miners.
Mr Forrest entered the Exchange Plaza in Perth in an intransigent mood, digging in at Mr Rudds proposed 40 per cent tax which was, in economic terms, a catastrophe.
He also said that if the Government went ahead with the tax, it would be challenged in the High Court.
"I know for sure there will be a High Court challenge if this stupid theoretical tax were to proceed," Mr Forrest said.
Mr Forrest's comments came against the background of reports that West Australian Attorney General Christian Porter is looking into the constitutional legality of the tax and whether it could be challenged in the Australian High Court.
On behalf of every single Australian I am hoping to convince the Prime Minister he is driving the economy into a swamp and if he does not stop driving he is going to drive it into quicksand," said Mr Forrest....."
