For the coming decades until leadership changes, China represents strategic threat to Australia imo.
The US is past its peak and has done reprehensible things for decades, as well as amazing good, but for Australia has never represented a threat.
Foreign policy toward China needs to be as though a velvet sledgehammer imo ... some recent Australian Govt actions have hit the right mark imo, but no need at this stage to over-react.
As for premise of this thread, it is typical over-reaction from the right. Forrest is a good man and very decent Australian imo ... it won’t have hurt the government that someone has fired a shot across their bow as they were heading full speed for dangerous waters.
