The map below shows the proposed rail line to Weld Range and Jack Hills, both now owned by Sinosteel.

The most western tenements held by ANS are about 100km from the original proposed rail line to Jack Hills, so could be accessed via a spur line, which incidently would be required by Sinosteel anyway if they wanted to mine their 10mt DSO deposit that adjoins ANS's Telecom Hill DSO deposit.

I've always considered there would be a tie up between Sinosteel and ANS in regards to the iron ore deposits as they share common boundaries and they would need to combine forces to have the size required to justify a rail line.

Also ANS acquired the Oakajee Port and Rail IP from Yilgarn infrastructure for $2m. Sinosteel had a jv with Yilgarn to put in a tender for the port and rail licence from the WA gov, which cost around $45m from memory. They lost out to the MMX/Mitsubishi tender. Mitsubishi then acquired MMX who owned the Jack Hills project, so they then held 100% of the port and rail licence and Jack Hills, which they ultimately sold the lot to Sinosteel for a pittance because neither the WA or Fed govs would contibute to the cost of building the port.

If FMG gets involved then something will happen imo, as Twiggy had previously shown interest to develop Oakajee as a port for his midwest green hydrogen plans.
