BHP shareholders may even want more WPL shares, they already have an interest in the petroleum assets via their investment in BHP and may wish to increase that imterest in oil/gas given the increased global scale of WPL .
if BHP shareholders hated oil/gas so much they would have sold out of BHP by now given BHP is a massive oil producer in its own right now.
