Its normally done before drilling just in case there is no gas or oil. Gives the company some breathing space if things don't go as planned.
This is pure wildcat drilling.
It may well be the case they drill a hole and discover their seismic is all arske about face....lots of things can go pear shaped....the well cost won't be open ended either IMO, so if there are budget blow outs, IVZ will need to have cash to cover that.
