Diversification is important, and really that's why I love small caps, you can have your big money into blue chips and collect a nice dividend, don't worry about them too much, everything about them is known, there's nothing to really discuss.
Then you can throw what you might have left into a small cap, yeah you lose sometimes, but it doesn't hurt much if you're diversified well, but if you pick your targets well you can luck out, and get a crazy gain from a small investment.
OR you can be smart and sell when it's time to sell so it doesn't hurt so much, knowing when to sell is super important with small caps. I have cut my losses a couple times early before it hurts, and taken gains when it made sense (Wish i'd gotten in on ODN a few weeks ago.) But despite RFN being quite the loser at the moment, and I should have known better and taken the win near $2, I can see it coming around because it really does have something very strong going for it. We have seen Amazon, and Apple and a few others are signed up and testing it out, we know the guys in charge, they're not some so-so people from nowhere who just finished uni and had a great idea, they're known people, with known successes, and also have one of those great ideas, executed at a pretty low price in terms of overheads and just undercutting the market and doing a better job than what is out there by a country mile. I have some shares in NOR as well so I will use them as an example, I do like the company, mostly because it makes me money, and I like what they're doing. But they are in a space with sooo much competition that are so close to them in prices and quality and such, however they are just a leg above the rest right now, and it's showing already, how long it will continue I am not certain.
RFN is like three legs up on the competition though, their platform is so damn simple and effective, I dunno why this hasn't been done before so well, There is a very small amount of competitors, but their programs are time consuming and work a little differently, not really encouraging for anyone to use, vs 20 seconds remembering someone, putting in an email and then making bank if they join up with the company, also the great thing that will benefit us, is that the more employees a company has, the more effective and efficient it's going to be, plus getting employees that know each other and enjoy working together just makes a work environment more fun and productive for everyone involved.
Once they get some capital flowing through and profits, I would love to see them expand on their platform like they are planning, if that is done properly, they will really become a global company.
Yeah I can fault them for being lazy for a public company in terms of keeping us informed, but even massive companies get caught out for things like that, they really should put out a statement that says in simple numbers something like:
X Amount of paying customers
X Amount of trialling customers
Some customers not named for privacy reasons.
X amount of total employee downloads
Because it is a concern of mine, and everybody else's to have some more transparency in a company that is just starting. That is where the stock is falling down at the moment. However perhaps they are simply confident in the product and assume the stock will rebound eventually so they don't need to worry about it. Otherwise we will have to wait until January 31st to see which direction they are going.
