I took the time over the weekend to email several companies about Halal certification.
I basically said I would no longer purchase their products due to the certification.
They have all replied with basically the same response.
"If we do not have Halal certification then our export market would be adversely affected, due to some countries requiring it."
Obviously these companies cannot survive on local markets alone.
