Well based on today's release:
Group Sales $34.6 billion
NPAT before significant items $929 million
NPAT after significant items $-781 million
So, NPAT before SI is 2.68% of sales
And NPAT after SI is -2.26% of sales
These are quite frankly razor thin profit margins. The frenzy being whipped up by the ABC and people like Alan Fels and populist politicians is simply appalling. If they are so displeased to live in an open market economy, I wish them all the best of luck with their move to Russia or China.
