I do have a cholesterol problem, if it is indeed a problem. I've had a reading of about 8 all my life, with the LDL reading higher than the HDL reading; and yet:
•I'm mid-50's
•I've always been slim and fit, but now I am extremely fit(a punishing PT 3 times a week)
•Have low body fat
•An excellent healthy diet that few can surpass(it's not quiet paleo, but close)
•I do enjoy a glass of wine
•I have no other medical conditions and do not take any medications.
Nothing changes my cholesterol reading! It remains the same no matter what. I'm assuming that the cholesterol I produce is required for me to survive.
Perhaps if I suffered hypertension or some other ailment, then a statin would need to be considered.
