Rubbish. Aussies have been anti nuke for decades, which is why no Govt had the tockleys to mention it, and never really had the need for it due to coal and gas. I very much doubt that it's popular even now when one considers the hideous cost of construction, where to plonk them, and higher kwh costs to generate elec. It's a good thing the way it's worked out because now we aren't stuck with 60 year old reactors at the end of their lives having to poor in another mountain of money to shut them down as they have done in Germany and elsewhere. There are about 3 times as many reactors getting shut down as being built.
