You have to wonder why the Labor Government is so eager to bring them to the mainland than deport the illegals straight away from Christmas Island? Surely a charter flight to Sri Lanka, Iraq or whereever they have come from is cheaper from there than flying them to Sydney and out of the country again. What a waste of our tax dollars.

I am guessing Rudd is not capable of making a decisive decision on this issue and is happy for these people to come to the mainland and access the Australian legal system so he can say it was not his decision but the courts.
