Do you know any other explorer, which managed to get all necessary steps done to get financed - only within 6 years?
Within these days (of the crisis) the most important step was to attract the KfW/DEG and the german government for this project of GIP. Might be that it wasn`t the idea of JT. However, the data needed to persuade all these persons involved, must have been very, very conclusive. And that´s up to JT (your saying: "the bucks stops with him").
The marketing, on the other hand, is a pitfall, I agree.
