I have been on the sidelines for a few weeks now but your post woke me up.

I sympathise with your situation and wish your wife and yourself all the best. Medical procedures have advanced a lot in the last few years, in particular treatment for brain tumours, aneurisms etc.

My wife suffered aneurisms since she was 19 and had many operations since then. Her life changed in 1995 when she was given a 50/50 chance of survival or become a vegetable. To cut a long story short she survived the op and was the best she had ever been. However, in 2003 she refused to have any further operations claiming she had lived her life to the full after visiting Egypt.

Ruth passed away in 2005 after refusing further brain surgery, even though the specialist stated it was a minor procedure.
