yep, lakes, dams, lots of rain or snow on a plateau and large amounts of water shift, big heavy buildings settling. The sheer weight can cause a tremor to register on seismic equipment.

Green lobbyist have concerns about what's actually in the fluid and the threat that the chemicals in the fluid and released oil and gas present to underground water reservoirs.
Hopefully the industry uses this debate as an opportunity to put those fears to rest. There was that drinking of fracking fluid by the Halliburton exec...

New Jersey has imposed a one year symbolic ban. Symbolic because there's not much gas under New Jersey. It was originally a complete ban June but the decision was recently returned with a veto recommending lifting in a year, after the issue has been studied...
So that's a good thing really isn't it? Let's the hope this debate puts the fears of fracking to rest.
