Arguably these hydrocarbons are not limited to the Offshore areas but must also be present in the onshore areas in the Gippsland Basin based on Geology. Lakes Oil, Beach Petroleum, Armour Energy and now also Cooper Energy (through its takeover of Somerton Enrgy) are all trying to unlock this value and commercial flow rates are the key to this success.
