Govt is voted by a distorted majority but policy is controlled by a small minority of professional lobby groups. ie. bankers,lawyers, economists, medicos, media etc.
Don't anyone kid themselves that these lobby groups really care about communities. About the future. It's all about dollars - that is how and why decisions are made.
Globalisation rules - financially and increasingly socially. Nations are notional. So, really, why should anyone give a damn about old-fashioned ideas of country?
