Regarding the Martin Place situation, I was amazed it took 17 hours and still two people died. Seems to me that there was a lack of skills or something. And I think it highlights the ridiculous situation where we have all these intrusive security measures to see if we are terrorists, which are really just politicians performing security theatre, but when we have a real definite terrorist holding people hostage, we negotiate for 17 hours and still two people died.
