Of course France is now paying the price for its colonial ambitions. But I reckon Merkel is a lot to blame for the huge influx of "migrants/refugees" with cultures that differ so strongly from that of Europe.
Engraved on my mind is the photo taken somewhere in northern Paris of a street wide crowd of praying, kneeling Muslim men. So different to the Paris I visited a number of times - a wonderful place.
