    Of course it's a subsidy, the government pays you money to make a loss making investment.

    CGT discount has nothing to do with inflation, make investment for 366 days & pay only 50% of the tax. That's one hell of an inflation rate!

    A lot of people would argue that a flat tax rate is far from being fair,
