Yes you are . The companies not franking are the companies not paying tax in Oz , so usually companies operating out of Oz . The franking credit reduces tax for those individuals that pay tax here...ie. the company has already paid tax on those earnings so the shareholder in fairness doesn't have to . So for someone , particularly on a big income a franked divi worth more for the same amount as an unfranked divi . So if you earn say 2% from bank interest that'll increase your tax payable but a 2% franked share divi won't .
