I find it incredible that someone is placing single bets of $77,000 and yet makes a beginner mistake like placing a stop at round numbers. Still, that is bad luck, imagine what a legend he'd seem now if he had of held. Though he probably would of sold on the first pull back and netted a "mere" 10% profit.
Your brother had a 2% stop when MQG was swinging 5-10% a day at that point. Thus he was day trading and probably wouldn't even had booked 10% profit. A 2% stop loss during that sort of volatility is...not best practice. Though WTFDIK, I'd never day trade.
