This guy does not pull any punches. If he thinks something is hopeless he will say so. He gave Avexa a huge wrap when the initial phase 2 results came out.

keep an eye on what the competitors are doing and how their trials are going.

Panacos Pharmaceuticals was expected to deliver on its phase II study of Beviramat but the results have yet again been delayed and only two weeks ago its CFO Peyton Marshall resigned!! ie one of our main competitors for a licensing deal with a big Pharma is in a mess. They are now clasping at straws by attempting a liquid formulation. Well even i can tell them that is not a viable option.
So as to serious competitors that leaves
Achillion Pharmaceuticals ACHN, with a share price thats plummetted from $20 to around $5 in a matter of months. Not very good! Further down the track with their phase 2 trials ( verify for yourself)
and Trimeris TRMS. Well the latest headline for them is that as of last Wednesday they have given up on Biojector "Trimeris gives up on device to inject HIV drug
