    Once again... "the common usage of the term in context"
    So when someone here states "My shares are free carried", most of us, I should think, would have a pretty good idea of what that person is talking about.

    Word "free" in itself is so misused in advertising that it has lost any real meaning.
    Free is very often used in place of "complementary". e.g. "Get a free gift when you purchase this item". It's not free at all.
