There really isnt a housing shortage ...at last census there was supposedly 1 mill homes sitting empty, there are 100's of thousand of blocks with no houses on them and approx 13 mill empty rooms in the country ie every 2nd person has a second spare room
Needs to be a vacant land tax if held for x amount of time and an empty house tax if held for x amount of time for starters
Where i live the street adjacent is half holiday houses, most are always empty...not a great society or community to live in tbh
