Yes “some” people have always had holidays homes… but the rate of short term rentals is the highest it’s ever been and gone up parabolic since stays and Airbnb type platforms
firstly it leads to not enough housing, not enough rentals but secondly creates suburbs that are like giant hotels where nobody knows anyone else
Short term rentals should be hotel and mote market not out housing stock
