That article estimates that renewables will "command 60% ... of new global capacity ... to 2020. 60% of new global capacity isn't going to take renewables suddenly to anywhere near dominating total energy production. If it was 100% of new capacity it's still questionable how much of an increase in total energy production it would command. As I said renewables will continue to increase, but it's going to take a long time to replace all the existing capacity and also support any additional growth in capacity. That's an insane amount of projects to construct.
