    It's because of the royalties that have to be paid to each and every exchange that supplies the data.

    The data supplier has to pay these exchanges a fair bit per month in data royalties.

    Even the brokers have to pay for it.

    I guess people don't mind providing something for free if it doesn't cost them anything, but they will not give away something that costs them money for commercial reasons.
