Wireless dont mix well with extreme weather, hills & valleys, tree leaves, etc.

Isnt more intiutive for laypeople like us to believe light wizzing through a fully enclosed cable would be far far more better and efficient and less exposed to loss & obstruction compared to wireless wizzing through thin air?
