I live in Tassie and no for a fact that you can get the base plans for just $29/month (15GB at 25 Mbps), which is way faster and way cheaper than existing services. A perfect plan for the average home user.

Chewy I don't think anyone could argue that isn't a sweet deal. Problem is it's completely uneconomic and unsustainable. By the time the government flogs off the network to private interests they couldn't ever dream of recovering costs, they be subsidising this thing for years.

$29 per month is with FREE wholesale, once privatised the actual cost to households will be multiples of that.
