    options have a time premium component to their value

    essentially the option is to buy ERJ fpo at 20c anytime between now and 2016, this is considered to be a longdated option
    If there is a reasonable expectation that the fpo sp will be higher than 20c by expiry of option then a premium will apply

    you are taking a punt on future price appreciation
