It might if we were the first to stand up to him, Scoto. American's see all Australians as Mick Dundee, afraid of nothing and no one rolleyes.png. As amusing as that may seem it's one of the reasons they hold us in such high regard despite our pinprick population. According to an old friend and former producer for ABC America, production staff sent to Australia for a job are given standing orders: "Don't f*&^k with the Ozzie's." The funny thing was that he was dead serious when he said it; said everyone in America knows not to f*&^k with the Ozzies. I never did enlighten him to the extent of the exaggeration wink.png.

In any case, my point being that regardless of the fiction we hold more power in the minds of Americans by virtue of reputation and respect, possibly more than any other country. If Australia was bold enough to take the stance, then once Trump and his clowns have been banished our country would enjoy the benefits of the new government for our stand. "Yesiree, Bob, he shoudn'ta f*&^ked with them there Ozzies, but we thank them kindly for their bravery. Ha, ha, the king is dead."
