The "do gooders" and bleeding hearts up here in Queensland have gone off on another tangent, complaining that because there are record numbers of aboriginal children being taken into care, then it is presently worse than the "stolen generation".

Of course, we know that DOCS will only remove aboriginal children as a very last resort.

Why?

Because they have no where to place them, once they are removed from the abusive or neglectful situation.

The issues stem back to domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, the sense of hopelessness, poor education (probably by not going to school when they could have), unemployment, and limited opportunities to participate in main stream society.

What is the solution?

I don't know, but the present policy of self determination has not worked.
