Free trade agreements with the USA or China would be as large an error as a FTA with Russia.

Setting up a free trade agreement with either the financial sociopaths/oligarchs of the United States or the corrupt Chinese would be as bad as agreeing to a FTA with the criminal thugs in charge of Russia.

All would have the same effect of allowing the main elements that drive their societies: white collar criminals that never get prosecuted, endemic official corruption and mafia thugs greater and freer access to our society and it would have a detrimental effect. Not like we are not having a hard enough time trying to get corruption, thuggery and white collar crime under control in Australia without opening the doors to foreign interests.

As a country we have nothing to offer either the US, China or Russia except free access for them to target Australia citizens to expand their respective monopolies and corruption and it begs the question why they are so keen to have a FTA with a small country like Australia.

It will be a HUGE mistake, just so a few special interest groups like farmers can make a few more dollars.

There is nothing wrong with the current world trade system that respects national boundaries and laws.
