My guess is that no such offer existed, that $1.70 a share was what MB asked for from RecruitCo, not what they offered. Everyone can believe what they want, but imo the idea of a Japanese company randomly offering a 418x multiple on profits (FLN used to have them!) and at 23x multiple on revenue is pretty humorous.
