As an aside, there is a lot of talk today in NZ about Chorus (NZX:CNU). Chorus is the main broadband network operator. Various parties are arguing about how much profit it should be allowed to make. However, the government is committed to the UFB program so some resolution will be found and NZ will get a decent network.
Back to QFX freeview launch.
Given the small size of the NZ market is this potentially a distraction for QFX?
I think it is an opportunity to test some technology which will be rolled out more widely down the track and an opportunity to get some publicity in NZ. However, I don't think they should blow too much of the marketing budget on it.
