It's sponsored data. It requires a content provider (app owner / sponsor) to pay the telco for the data consumed downloading the app and then using the app. In the absence of a sponsor, Syntonic have to foot the data bill.
On October 12, Syntonic announced agreements with some content providers but up until then, there have been no real agreements made, only trials and case studies.
Real revenue will come when Freeway is launched commercially in SEA and in the states later this quarter.
