Now that Freida is maybe back on the radar,the next six months will be interesting to see what PAN comes up with in their revised, revision due October.
I found of interest a statement in the MRA release:-
"The project is also considering development of a public road corridor between Vanimo and Hotmin instead of using the Sepik River."
The word "corridor" implies to me it may have other uses as well. Say a transmission line for any of the 300 megawatt hydro power they do don't use. Or a pipeline to carry the concentrate from Freida ( read Hotmin) to Vanimo. Maybe 400 klms. The concentrate will be at 27% copper, so at 175ktpa Cu will be less than a million tons. Ramu pipeline carries 3 million.
Local pollies around Wewak won't be happy, they were expecting it to be centred there not Vanimo.
