Just for interest sake I had a look at OMH projected costs for Bootu Creek in 2006 and compared with Minemakers Wonarah projection in 2008. Similar sized projects with similar logistics. Bootu Creek projected costs $105 per tonne, MAK $150 per tonne.
Mining, processing, admin costs were very similar. (28 to 33, 15 to 16 and 10 to 8)
Freight estimates were very different. Bootu were $37 per tonne ($5 road, $25 rail $7 port handling). Total freight figure for MAK is $98 per tonne.
Bootu Creek is 60km road, then 800km rail, MAK 270 km road, 1000km rail.
So based on OMH freight splits and the fact that we are back to 2006 oil prices, you'd could come up with freight estimate of about $65 per tonne and production costs would come down to $115.
