Fremantle Football Club June News Letter

    Dear Member,

Fremantle Football Club is proud to have you on board as a member. We know that we are nothing without you.

We still believe that our 2008 season is going well. We are playing great football without winning. We have secured a few players that were going to be out of contract at the end of the season- they include Peter Bell & Shaun McManus. We are in negotiation with Troy Cooke & Matt Carr to make comebacks, as well as Tony Modra.

We are looking at a few changes to the 2009 football season. At present we are in talks with the AFL Commission in regards to reducing the game to only three quarters per game. This will ensure at least 6 more wins per season and the team being able to play finals- something we have been trying to achieve for many years.

We are also talking to the Commission about the thickness of the goal posts- we feel they are way too thick and too easy to hit, so the alternative is to reduce the thickness or bring in the 9 point rule if you hit the post. This will also help us win games.

We at the Fremantle Football club know that, as long time members, you can understand the predicament we are in and, if you stick by us, we will deliver what is expected but when, I cannot say.

Last of all, please remember that we are one of the newest teams in the AFL competition and it takes time to build a club. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Our new Membership rates for 2009 will be as follows.

    Full Member - $250.00
Three Quarter Time go home Member $380.00 (Go home early, feel like a winner)
We look forward to having you weigh us down again in 2009.
