much as I like Simon and his diverse work, as a manager myself I wouldn't take Simon around on deal discussions.

Simon obviously has a vested interest and expertise, but he's not staff and his presence would imply that there's some sort of deficiency with the actual paid team.

and because he's not an employee, rules and responsibilities of employment don't apply to him. nor would or should he be privy to the bigger picture here.

however well intentioned his contributions, they might well fall short of their mark or run counter to larger plans. remember he's an academic researcher, not a business person...

and he can't be held accountable for anything he does or says on a brainchip context because again, he's not on staff..


uptake of really new tech is generally slow, particularly if you are seeking govt contracts... this is a industry in its infancy.. it's gonna take a while with Simon or not.
