Most of the fraccing damage is related to CSM/CSG such as what happened in QLD in the Great Artesian Basin where QGC, in 2009, fracced a coal seam and the overlying sandstone water aquifer intentionally, (Springbok water aquifer), which allowed fraccing fluids/chemicals to move into the aquifer.
It is only common sense that once the CSM companies start pumping the ground water to the surface to allow the gas to flow, that there is potentially going to be a lot of gas, and fraccing chemicals released to the environment.
(Without that disturbance, and huge volumes of water being pumped to the surface by the CSG co.'s, the CSG would basically remain in place under the water and not be such an issue that it is, especially in the US.)
CTP, because of its location and not targetting CSG, no water problems with UCG, and hopefully better environmental controls than in the US, it will be all systems go, when they have a good JV.
