It would appear that despite Shv managements predictions of supply shortages for a few years now......each year we are reminded that this is indeed a market and supply responds to demand.......US production increases just like Aus production


I'm pretty sure they've been talking about supply constraints for at least the last 15 years.

Almonds are not an essential food product/ingredient so demand is largely reliant on the supply side. There's only so much people are prepared to spend so if excess demand, or supply side constraints, pushes the price up too much then demand will fall back to more sustainable levels.

On the positive side if supply increases, as has been the case for years now, there is plenty of demand out there to soak up any potential excess product.
