Anyone who wants to complain about Kerogen, go ahead and wail away. But just understand a few things:
Kerogen stepped up when no one else was willing, and they lost money as a result.
Kerogen took equity when they could have just as easily taken debt or converts instead. If they had chosen this course of action they would probably own all of AJL today as the company would have gone under or diluted us all to death to convert K. We are fortunate that Kerogen isn't a vulture investor.
Kerogen took debt at below market rates. This is clear from the rates OCP received on AJL debt.
If not for Kerogen, any long-term AJL holder would be in far, far worse shape than they are today.
We've all benefited from Kerogen's backing of AJL. I hope they make money on AJL, and loads of it. If they do well, I do well.
