Unfortunately many old world businesses have little idea of vision that might lift them out of the doldrums. The text book example is CCL. Every "new" idea is another cola flavor or another fringe beer FGS - no sign of a real idea anywhere to be seen. Meanwhile we have a country of 250m people a few clicks to our north - and these people don't mind a drink. CCL claim they know the market up there and have done reasonably well in refrigerated vending. Well guess what, last time I looked we had a zillion tonnes of unwanted grapes in Australia which could be turned into something drinkable! I myself don't even mind a few glasses of alcohol removed wine FGS and those to our north a supposed on religous grounds to avoid alcohol. H-E-L-L-O! ANYONE HOME!

That older Australian companies like Hills (old boardrooms more like it) cannot develop any exciting new business ideas just appalls me.

Then there's another big one I know (unlisted) that is about to disappear with all hands, but still playing the same old music every day while nobody listening. Tragic.
