I doubt that the sell-off on Friday was someone fishing for stops. Generally this is done so the dumper can buy more stock as the stops are hit.

But on Friday, the depth of buy orders between 18-20c was HUGE (each line was well over a million before the dump). The number of shares dumped was in the millions and the dumper would have been pretty deep in a queue to pick up stop-order sells. There is no way they could have recouped the dumped stock.

The stop fishing usually happens when the buy side is thin and a small number of shares can be dumped to drive the price down quickly (see EXT a few weeks ago...shining example).

My theory is that a "sophisticated" investor who bagged a few million at 11c the other day sold all/part of his holdings...because they get to make lots of free money.
