I believe that the boycotting/banning of huawei equipment in our (and others') network infrastructure has more to do with concerns over spying as a result of current Chinese law that dictates citizens/organisations must cooperate with the Chinese government in intelligence gathering etc. as opposed to the sanctions issues going on, although I suppose that could have played a part in persuasions as well.
