SPI Futures traded in a 65 point range last night, with a high of 7140, low of 7075, and a close this morning of 7113, up 3 points, on volume of 21,384 contracts. The opening night session gap at 7110 filled, as did two lower gaps at 7085 and 7079, leaving one down at 7074 from a previous day (she got to 75), and 7090 and 7103 (which is a 3 pointer which always fill), from last night. There are no gaps on the upside. US markets Misbehavin' last night, with the DOW down .44 pct, SNP down .38 pct and Canada (resource driven) up .10 pct, so some chance for the XJO today, but not holding my breath. VIX up 8.21 pct to 15.56. US markets were in full swing before a 1.3 pct drop in the SNP took it all down, SPI futures with it, and the DOW was down over 300 points, before dip buyers took them back up. Why ? Something about a virus... Have a nice Friday, the anything can happen day.
Today in 1982, the musical "Ain't Misbehavin'" closed at Longacre Theater NYC, after 1604 performances. The musical was a tribute to the black musicians of the 1920s and 1930s who were part of the Harlen Renaissance, an era of growing creativity, cultural awareness, and ethnic pride, and took its title from the 1929 Fats Waller song "Ain't Misbehavin'." It was a time when Manhattan nightclubs like the Cotton Club and the Savoy Ballroom were the playgrounds of high society with piano players banging out the new beat known as swing. Yes traders - It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing
(Doo wah, doo wah, doo wah, doo wah). No Misbehavin' today. Do it by the numbers.
